10/16/2016 9:33 AM -

In game two against the Arizona Hawks, the Rhinos put up 20, yes 20, goals. In the first period, Hunter Cooley started the barrage of goals at 14:17. Before Cooley closed the first period with his second goal of the game, Drake Cartwright earned a hat trick while Chaseton Sare, Ty Erramouspe, Adam Cech, and Alex Rubin also notched goals in the first twenty minutes of play.

Alex Johanson scored the Rhinos’ tenth goal four minutes and sixteen seconds into the second period. Hunter Cooley netted two more goals in the second as Sare, Alex Rubin and Arty Laukaitis also added one goal each to the Rhinos’ tally.

In the final period, Cooley and Jayden Ritchie scored the Rhinos’ seventeenth and eighteenth goals, respectively. With two more goals in the final six minutes of the game, Sare earned his third and fourth goals of the game. In the final 36 seconds, Arizona Hawks forward Gannen Erickson slipped one past Brendan Cytulik, robbing the El Paso goaltender of a shutout.

In the first two games of the series, almost every Rhino has at least one point. Combined with game one’s six points, Cooley’s five goals and two assists from the second game give him thirteen points on the season. Hunter’s linemates, Chaseton Sare and Alex Johanson, both have twelve points in the Rhinos’ first two games.

The Rhinos will look for the shutout when they take on the Arizona Hawks for the final game of the series at 2:00 pm on Sunday. Keep up with the game by downloading the Rhinos mobile App, following the team on Twitter and liking “El Paso Rhinos Hockey” on Facebook.
