Austin Balko started off the scoring at 1:45 of the first period, followed by Kohn on the power play at 12:16.

Stormy Knight got one back for Dallas at 13:02, but starting at 3:07 of the second period with Kohn’s second on the man advantage, El Paso rattled off seven straight goals, including all five scored in the second 20 minute period.

Eric LaBounty got the Rhinos’ fourth on the day at 12:15 of the second. Jeffrey Schmudlach got another at 16:58 followed by J.R. Arnett just 1:07 later. Sean Molina put El Paso’s seventh in the scoring column just six seconds from the end of the second period.

Zach Hale tapped in the eighth goal at 9:13 of the third period and Kevin Coyne made it 9-1 at 11:10 before Carlos Frazier stopped the string for the Hawks at 15:20.

Zach Goller got the Rhinos into double figures on the power play at 16:19 of the third, followed at 19:30 by Zac McCleod.

With another quiet night in his own end, starting goaltender Arthur Hollinger stopped 14 of 16 Dallas shots to improve to 7-0-0.

El Paso stays on top of the Mid-West Division of the Western States Hockey League and is the league’s only undefeated team.

The Hawks drop to 3-6-0 and their six points puts them fifth in the Mid-West.

After a month of road games to start the season, the Rhinos come home to reopen the Sierra Providence Events Center next Friday through Sunday.

El Paso entertains the second place Tulsa Rampage (8-5-1, 17 points) at 7:00 p.m. MDT Friday and Saturday and at 5 p.m. Sunday.
