Coach Herman the Zoo Keeper

Nov 10, 2015

EL PASO, Texas – El Paso Zoo and El Paso Rhinos Hockey team have created a community partnership for El Paso residents and visitors. Support your local wildlife – get a FREE El Paso Rhinos Hockey ticket for this season with your paid El Paso Zoo admission!

“It’s our mission to provide fun, affordable, safe, educational and recreational opportunities to all El Paso residents and visitors,” said Zoo Director Steve Marshall. “That’s why we’re so excited about this new community partnership with our friends and neighbors, the El Paso Rhinos Hockey team. This is a great value and opportunity to enjoy some of the family fun and adventure El Paso has to offer while supporting the Zoo’s wildlife residents.”

As part of this community partnership, Rhinos coach Cory Herman will come be a zookeeper for a day, and try working with real animals, while zookeeper Tasha Bretz takes a turn training Rhinos – instead of her usual tigers, orangutans and other Zoo animals. Coach Herman and zookeeper Bretz will trade places Tuesday, November 10, just before the Rhinos next home game stretch November 13-15 at the El Paso Coliseum. For video coverage of the job swap, download the Official Rhinos Mobile App and follow the links in the News Feed. You must also download and create an account inside the Periscope App (it’s worth it… we promise!).

With the “Support Your Local Wildlife” campaign, guests receive a free ticket to an El Paso Rhinos hockey game with paid Zoo admission. So when you support your local wildlife at the Zoo you get two tickets for the price of one – and you can support your favorite Zoo animals and your favorite animals on ice, the Rhinos.
