(EL PASO, TX) — Down 3-0 to the Arizona Redhawks after the opening minutes of the second period, the El Paso Rhinos stormed back to double Redhawks, 6-3, to improve to 6-2-0 on the season.

El Paso got scoring from six different players in the win, including the first two just nine seconds apart.

Gunner Bjorklund and Tyler Basham keyed the comeback with goals at 6:16 and 6:25 of the second period, respectively. Brenden Gust completed the comeback at 9:24.

Defenseman Trent Edwards scored the game-winning goal 52 seconds into the third, firing in a top-shelf strike from the left corner almost parallel to the end line.

David Nelson powered in a one-time shot on a pass from Aaron Rasmussen at 6:38, and Martin Vachal scored an impressive short-handed goal, holding off a defender and waiting out Arizona goaltender Fredrik Johansson before popping the puck top shelf at 7:57.

Mexican national goaltender, Allan Cukier, started the game between the pipes for the Rhinos, but two Arizona power play goals and a third to start the second period forced the change, as much to preserve Cukier\’s confidence as to send a message to his teammates to step up their game.

Austin Brihn stopped all nine shots he faced after replacing Cukier.

The Redhawks and Rhinos will finish their three-game series Sunday afternoon at 4:30 p.m. MDT. For tickets and information, contact the Rhinos\’ front office at 915/479.PUCK or go to www.elpasorhinos.com.=
