Rhinos Split Series with Jacks

Friday: El Paso 2 @ Odessa 4 – Four different players scored and Gergely Orosz made 35 saves to lead the Jackalopes to a 4-2 home win over the Rhinos. Odessa opened up a 2-0 lead in the 1st period with goals from Ryan Mansfield and Emerson Goode. El Paso tied the game at 2-2 in the 2nd period with goals from Frank Tafelski and Jacob Zwirecki. Odessa would then put the game away with goals from J.R. Perdion in the 2nd period and Tanyon Bajzer in the 3rd period. Nolan Suggs made 22 saves in the Rhinos loss.


Saturday: El Paso 5 @ Odessa 1 – The Rhinos salvaged a weekend road split in Odessa thanks to a 5-1 win on Saturday. Bo Cosman led the way for El Paso with two goals and an assist. It was all El Paso from the drop of the puck as Cosman scored twice in the 1st period and Sam Blanton, Hunter Fetterolf, and Kolby Amici added 3rd period goals. Odessa netted their lone goal with just :29 seconds remaining in regulation as Emerson Goode scored. Nolan Suggs made 30 saves in the win, while Quentin Sigurdson made 32 saves in the loss.
