Rhinos Take Series with Game 3 Win in OKC

Feb 5, 2017

On Sunday, the Rhinos managed to snag a 3-1 win in Oklahoma, for the last night of the weekend series.

Both teams prevailed defensively as the first period began and ended the same way, scoreless.

The Rhinos were determined to change the empty scoreboard before, the battle of El Paso and OKC broke out onto the ice causing major fighting penalties for the opponents. Although the second period was rocky, Tanner Mckechnie broke the scoreless curse. OKC came back for a score of their own to tie the game 1-1.

The third period proceeded with a tied scoreboard. El Paso came in and sealed the deal with two more goals passed through Phil Babb, thanks to native El Pasoan Ty Erramouspe.

The Rhinos will host the Oklahoma City Blazers in the Sun City this weekend for a rematch. The February 10-12 series, presented by the American Heart Association, will feature a game-worn Valentine’s jersey auction. For tickets, visit http://www.elpasorhinos.com/tickets/single/.
