Rhinos Top Blazers 6-3 and Split Series

After a scoreless first period and overtime loss on Friday, the Rhinos opened game two’s scoring with a goal by Tristin Maestas. Only 45 seconds later, the Blazers tied the game at one.

Oklahoma City’s momentum continued when they took the lead just four and half minutes into the second period, however, El Paso quickly answered back. Rhinos John Mulvihill, Luke Anderson, Nate Beamish and Cole Schneider contributed to four unanswered goals by the end of the second.

In the third period, OKC cut the Rhinos’ lead to two with a goal by Michael Onda at 12:03, but Jake Robinson scored an empty net goal to give the Rhinos the 6-3 win. The two points from Saturday night’s victory and the single point from the overtime loss on Friday gave the Rhinos 3 points on the weekend.

The Rhinos are off until Dec. 4 when they take on the Texas RoadRunners in College Station.
