Vets Re-Up for Another Year

Sep 1, 2009

David Fegler and Tyler Ridgedell both came to the Rhinos from other Jr. A Tier III teams.

Though still early in their career they both proved to be important cogs in the Rhino machine.

The Rhinos are pleased to have re-signed these 2 veteran players for what will hopefully be a breakout year for both players.

David Fegler

David came to the Rhinos from the AJHL to play his 18-year-old year at the recommendation of former Rhino and ex-Little Big Line member Grady Little.

He was 1 of 2 Rhinos called up to The (NAHL) Topeka Roadrunners (the other was Andrew Duff), and played in 2 games wit the Roadrunners.

David is a physical player that arguably had 3 of the biggest hits ever for a Rhino as all three opponents hit had to be helped off the ice, and never retned.
“David is a physical presence; he’s fast and loves to throw the body.”

“We need him to continue to be a force on our fore check, his hard work on the fore check creates offensive opportunities.”

“He’s got a good hard shot and we will need him to use his shot and speed to produce offense on the fore check and filling the lanes.”

Tyler Ridgedell

Tyler was in the midst of his second year in the WSHL, when acquired in a late season trade made by the Rhinos.

Arriving in El Paso in February he was part of a playoff team for the first time in his young playing career.

The Rhinos traded for Tyler to add some size, physicality, and offensive depth.

“This will be Tyler’s first whole season with us, we are looking for him to be consistent shift by shift, he improved a lot as a player in the two months he was here, and we’re are looking for him to keep building even more upon what he did last year.”

“Tyler’s got great size, skates well, and is strong on his skates, he can play physical, he can score, and has all the tools to be a premier player at this level.”
