Anchor Kelly Anne as a Rhino

Nov 10, 2017

On this week’s segment, I hit the ice to learn about the game of hockey. El Paso is home to the junior team, tier two, El Paso Rhinos. The team plays at the El Paso County Coliseum and is currently 12-0. Head coach, Cory Herman, celebrated his 500th win on Nov. 3.

Four of the players stepped up to show me basic drills and puck-handling skills for “Kelly Anne: Do My Job.” Players featured on the segment include Austin Simpson, of Southgate, MI; Carlo Wittor, of Furth, Germany; Colby Haugen, of Haywarden, Saskatchewan, Canada; and Filip Krasanovsky, of Tachov, Czech Republic.

According to the assistant director of operations, Tyler DeLoach, the El Paso Rhinos organization will expand to include a junior team, tier one, for the 2018-2019 season.
