Indy Trio signs

Indy Trio

The Rhinos will need to reload on forwards this season, to replace the loss of Austin Balko (St. Mary’s/MIAC), Nic Gualano (St. Marys/MIAC), Trevor Erickson (St. Mary’s/MIAC), Donald Geary, Navarone Copley (Corpus Christi/NAHL).

The Rhinos hope the latest signings will help bridge some of that gap.

Michael Epley, Alex June, and Jared Lehman, all call Indiana home and are the first ever recruits to play for the Rhinos from the state of Indiana.

Epley and Lehman were team mates last season and come to the Rhinos from the  Indiana Jr. Ice AAA Midget Major team and June comes by way of S2 AAA Midget Major in Michigan.

Lehman and June were recruited from the Bismarck Bobcats camp, and Epley from the Five Hole Junior Prospects camp.

Each player brings a different quality to the table.

June is a physical player probably first on the forecheck in the Rhinos system.

Lehman is a set up man who distributes the puck and picks up his points through assists.

Epley is more of a pure goal scorer who has a knack for putting the puck in the net, leading his team in scoring last season.

All 3 were recruited by Rhinos Director of Player Personnel Trevor Converse

Trevor’s comments:

Michael Epley

“Michael possesses a knack for finishing, he’s a natural goal scorer, who loves to score goals.

Look for Michael to be a leader in offensive categories this season.”

Alex June

“Alex is a big strong skater who can handle the puck in tight areas, he loves to take the body.

Alex will take the puck to the net and put up some good numbers for us this year.”

Jared Lehman

“Jared is a top line center who competes away from the puck as much as when he has the puck.

Jared along with June will be a great addition to the locker room.”
