Rhinos & Jackalopes split series

Oct 21, 2023

Friday: Odessa Jackalopes 2 @ El Paso Rhinos 1 – Odessa Jackalopes pay a visit this weekend to Rhino Country for the start of a brand new series. Rhinos are first to score tonight as Camden Bajzer scores at just under four minutes into the game. Jackalopes return the favor in the last two minutes of the first period to tie the game at 1-1. Now with both teams vying for the win, it’s up to defense to do their jobs. Neither team would let up a single point for the rest of regulation time and even extra time, leading us to a shootout to call the game. Ultimately it would be the Jackalopes’ win after 7 rounds of shootout.

Saturday: Odessa Jackalopes 0 @ El Paso Rhinos 3 – Back on the ice after last night’s defeat the El Paso Rhinos aim to split the series with the visiting Odessa Jackalopes. With both teams primed to fight after last night’s match the competition remains fierce. No points would be scored at all within the first two periods of the game by either side. Right off the bat, Bradley Walker gives the Rhinos the very first goal of the night, and it wouldn’t be the last. Tensions kept running high as we moved deeper into the third period, and even saw some fights and penalties thrown around, the third period was anything but uneventful. Finally, with less than five minutes left to go in the game the Rhinos score two back-to-back goals courtesy of Medrick Bolduc and Frank Tafelski to give El Paso a 3-0 victory, splitting the series.
