Recruiting players is hard work.
The Rhinos have increased their recruiting staff this season to 5.
Player Personnel Director Trevor Converse oversees the 5 man staff.
Trevor Converse (USHL, NAHL)
Lou Fritz (Mid-West & Western US)
Mike Young (Texas)
Bret Norris (Colorado)
Lou Gravel (Europe& Scandinavia)
These recruiters have their own contacts and it networks from there as they scour the country looking for players.
Sometimes your best recruiters are already a part of your program.
Nick Gorup, former Rhino great, brought our next signee to the program.

“Garrett is exactly the type of player Coach (Herman) likes. He’s a scrapper yet he can score goals and he’s physical.
I know being in El Paso Garrett will be able to advance to the college level”  –  Nick Gorup
“Garrett’s a multi-faceted player, he’s got good offensive skills, he’s fast and physical. He’s very solid on the puck, he’ll remind people of former Rhino (and UMD hopeful), Eric LaBounty.” – Coach Cory Herman
“I went to the first Rhino camp with Nick (Gorup), all the vets that were there were really friendly and helped me out a lot, the coaching staff was really good, and the fans were great even though it was just a camp”
“I’m going there to win a Thorne Cup, I saw Nick’s ring and I wanna get one of those, and my long term goal is to play college hockey and I think this is the program that can get me there.”
The Rhinos have always had a player from the state of Nebraska and this time his name is Garrett Poland.
