Nov 8, 2008

The El Paso Rhinos first line of Nick Gorup, Billy Krueger and Zach Kohn were named First, Second and Third Stars of the Game respectively as each scored two goals and had two assists in the Rhinos’ 11-1 win over the Colorado Outlaws Friday night at the Sierra Providence Events Center.

Andrew Duff stopped 13 of 14 Outlaws shots for the home team, continuing his run as the top netminder in the Western States Hockey League, as El Paso improved to 12-1-0.
Duff’s 1.20 goals-against average coming into Friday’s game was the best mark in the league, as was his saves percentage of 94.9.
El Paso improves to 12-1-0, and its 24 points puts the Rhinos third in the WSHL’s Mid-West Division behind San Antonio and Tulsa, though both teams have played five more games than El Paso.
The Outlaws dropped to 5-18-0 and stay in fifth place in the Mid-West Division.
David Fegler and Austin Balko also scored for the Rhinos.
Head coach Cory Herman has made special teams a point of emphasis as of late and his team obliged Friday, going 3-for-8 with the man advantage.
