Rhinos 5, Bison 3

The El Paso Rhinos started off their second out of three games in Superior CO in a different fashion scoring first from a nice shot from Josh Deloach at the beginning of the first period.

The Bison answered quickly scoring a nice goal on the power play to even the score at 1.

The second period had no scoring.

The start of the third period the Bison scored another nice goal on the power play.  The Rhinos answered with two quick goals from rookie forward Ben Henne, Fairbanks Alaska native.

Veteran Rhino Austin Balko scored a nice goal form the right side of the Bison goaltender extending the Rhino lead to 4 – 2.  The Bison answered scoring on a defensve breakdown making it 4 – 3 Rhinos.

The Rhinos scored an empty net goal with 45 seconds left in the game from Trevor Erickson.

“We played alot better tonight, still a little sloppy but our work ethic was much better.  For our team to have success this season we need to have a good work ethic and be first on the puck.”
