Rhinos Split Series with Ice Wolves and fall 8-0 in Game 2

Tuesday: El Paso Rhinos 4 @ New Mexico Ice Wolves 3 –  It’s Tuesdays night here in beautiful Albuquerque, New Mexico as the El Paso Rhinos are once more on the road to visit the Ice Wolves. Medrick Bolduc starts us off tonight by earning the first goal for the Rhinos. Within the same minute the Ice Wolves’ Ryan Johnson would tie up the game at 1-1 for a few minutes until the Rhinos’ Kenneth Brodie breaks through Ice Wolves’ defense to take a 2-1 lead at the end of the first. Frank Tafelski & Bolduc both take one goal each in the second to increase the Rhinos’ lead to 4-1 at the end of the second period. With the teams returning to the ice for the start of the third period the Ice Wolves try their hardest to bring the game back in their favor. Ryan Johnson earns himself a Hat trick tonight, but the Ice Wolves fail to make a comeback and Rhinos would take Game #1 with a 4-3 victory.

Wednesday: El Paso Rhinos 0 @ New Mexico Ice Wolves 8 – We’re back on the ice tonight for Game #2 against the New Mexico Ice Wolves and the Rhinos had their work cut out for them. Ice Wolves came back last night with newfound vigor and snag an early game goal at just past three minutes into the first period. New Mexico would go on to score an additional goal before the period was out to lead 2-0 moving onto the second period. The second period would be a repeat of the first with a goal at both extremes of regulation time for a now 4-0 game for the Ice Wolves. With the Rhinos now four points behind the Ice Wolves kicked it into high gear, scoring four goals this period and taking game #2 with an 8-0 victory over the Rhinos.
