Friday: El Paso Rhinos 4 @ Lone Star Brahmas 1 – Rhinos take to the road this week to face off against the Lone Star Brahmas. We hit the ground running today as Bo Cosman takes an early game goal. This went uncontested for most of the first period until Charlie Masek of the Brahmas tied the game at 1-1. The Rhinos would take the lead once more with back-to-back goals just as the second period starts. The goals were attributed to Marian Haborak at 46 seconds and Tyler Green at 1:37. These goals would give the Rhinos a 3-1 lead headed into the third period where one final goal from Frank Tafelski would end the game at a 4-1 Rhino victory.
Saturday: El Paso 1 @ Lone Star 5 – The Brahmas got two goals from Ray Murakami and 15 saves from Arthur Smith in a 5-1 win, which salvaged a weekend split against the Rhinos. Lone Star jumped out a to 3-0 lead thanks to two goals from Murakami and one from Ryan Comishock. Late in the 2nd period, the Rhinos got on the board with their lone goal from Kolby Amici. In the 3rd period, goals from Shane Carr and Johan Rosenquist secured the 5-1 win. El Paso goalie Nolan Suggs made 23 saves in the loss.
