Friday: El Paso Rhinos 1 @ Odessa Jackalopes 2 – Rhinos hit the road this week for a quick trip over to Odessa, Tx to challenge the Jackalopes on their home ice. Jacks are up first taking a goal at just past 10 minutes in the first period and holding the Rhinos at 1-0 for the remaining 10. Jackalopes maintain their lead and even take another at 6:35 in the second as Matvey Ivanov scores them an insurance goal. Rhinos now need a goal more than ever as we move into the third behind 2-0. Eddie Shepler puts us in the board and cuts the Jackalopes’ lead in half, but it wouldn’t be enough to bring the game back. Ultimately the Jackalopes would take Game #1 with a 2-1 lead over the Rhinos.
