Rhinos Win Two in Odessa

El Paso 4 @ Odessa 2 – The Rhinos picked up a much-needed 4-2 road win in Odessa on Thursday. Graham Harris and Aleksi Kayra each had a goal and an assist in the win. El Paso jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the 1st period as Kayra and Alex Krause scored. Odessa tied the game at 2-2 by the early 3rd period as Tanyon Bajzer and Brendan Finn scored. However, later in the 3rd period, the Rhinos grabbed the win with goals from Philip Quetell and Harris. Lassi Lehti made 28 saves in the win, while Alex Proctor made 31 saves in the loss.

 

El Paso 4 @ Odessa 3 – Maksis Brimanis scored with just six seconds remaining in regulation to lift the El Paso Rhinos to a 4-3 win over the Odessa Jackalopes. The Rhinos built a 3-0 lead in the first period as Frank Tafelski, Bo Cosman and Alex Krause all lit the lamp in the opening 20 minutes. Odessa would respond with a goal by Emerson Goode and two goals off the stick of Rylan Yates. Zelenak’s game winner was his second goal of the season. Lassi Lehti improved to 9-8-2 on the year as he made 27 saves. William Proctor was the tough luck loser as he made 34 saves.

 

El Paso 1 @ Odessa 2 – Noah Rupprecht was incredible as he allowed just a single goal on 47 shots as the Odessa Jackalopes edged the El Paso Rhinos 2-1. Conner Couet broke a scoreless tie 2:10 into the second period with his second goal of the year. Maksis Brimanis used his third goal of the year to tie the game up just three minutes later. Justin Hughes would score on the power play early in the third to give Odessa the lead again and it would stand as the game winning goal. Lassi Lehti took the loss in the net as he stopped 40 of 42 shots.
