Strusz Heads to St. Mary’s

Jul 27, 2014

Jack Strusz becomes the fifth Rhino to sign with St. Mary’s and the ninth El Paso player to sign with a higher division league.

After the Minnesota native moved to El Paso during the middle of the 2012-2013 season, the defenseman posted 7 points in 26 games. He also contributed to the team’s post-season run as he tallied one goal and three assists.

Returning to play alongside other Rhino notables like Chris Wilhite, David Nelson, Austin Hoff and Chad Cesarz, Strusz’s final season with the Rhinos was nothing short of stellar. At the end of the regular season, Strusz was ranked second in scoring among team defenseman. He was then able to clinch the Thorne Cup on home ice and go on to score two goals at the national tournament. Jack’s consistently physical play allowed him to end his junior hockey career by hoisting the national championship trophy.
