Texas 6, Rhinos 1

Dec 4, 2010

Anton Olsson stopped 44 of 45 El Paso shots and the Texas Brahmas dominated the Rhinos, reclaiming second place in the Mid-West Division with a 6-1 win.

The visitors clogged El Paso\’s passing lanes and when the Rhinos were able to break through, Olsson took the air out of their tires.

Nick O\’Donnell started the scoring at 12:31 of the first period. Hassan Makke and Jason Crabtree scored in the second period before El Paso\’s Todd Thomas could get one back for the hosts on the power play at 13:12.

That would be the Rhinos\’ only goal of the night, though.

The Brahmas (12-9-3, 27 points) had three more to go, though, including one more in the second period from Curtis Kort at 16:47.

Kort scored again at 3:06 of the third, followed by Albert Bolush on the power player.

Texas and El Paso (12-5-2, 26 points) will square off twice more this weekend, at 7:30 p.m. MST Saturday night and 5:30 p.m. MST Sunday afternoon. For tickets and information, contact the Rhinos front office at 915/479.PUCK (7825) or go to www.elpasorhinos.com.
