Friday night was the beginning of an exciting three days for the El Paso Rhinos during their Home Opening Weekend.   Almost all the players scored, and the most prominent players were Trey Hughes (4), Jackson Hewitt (2), Tyler Basham (2), Brenden Gust (2), and Matthew Tritsch (2). Goalie Brandon Smolarek stopped 20 shots of 24 shots, giving the Rhinos a 20-4 win over the Dallas Snipers.

Saturday night brought another victory, where the Rhinos continued their winning streak with a final score of 6-1 against the Snipers.  The key players for this second game were Trent caspar, who stopped 27 of 28 shots, as well as teammates Nicholas Sadow (2), John Morales (2), Michael Rivera (1) and Dallas Szustak (1).

On Sunday, the final night of this Home Opening Weekend,  Michael Rivera (2), Brenden Gust (2), Tobias Pehrson (2) scored for the Rhinos with goaltender Brenden Manquen saving all 25 of the Snipers’ shots, giving the Rhinos a 14-0 win over the Dallas Snipers.

In all, this weekend was an extremely successful one, adding up to 40 goals scored and only 5 allowed, leaving the Rhinos as the only undefeated team in the WSHL.
